ROBERTO (BOB) LOZANO
Founder & Advisor, Appistry, Inc.
Author, Executives Guide to Cloud Computing

Bob Lozano is a technology industry veteran, serial entrepreneur, and co-founder of Appistry, a leading provider of cloud application platforms (i.e., software for building, deploying, and managing a wide variety of applications and services for all types of clouds – public, private, community, and hybrid). He currently an advisor and founder to the company, previously serving as the company’s Chief Strategist, and prior to that as president and CEO.

Bob is the co-author of Executive’s Guide to Cloud Computing (Wiley, April 2010, hardcover and kindle editions), the first widely accessible guide to cloud computing. The book has received significant advance praise, including such comments as “…a crystal ball into the future of business”, “… very timely and invaluable resource for CIOs, CTOs … will serve readers well now and far into the future …” and more.

An experienced entrepreneur with a history of building successful companies, Bob previously founded and led PaylinX, a leader in the payment solutions market. The award-winning PaylinX Payment Server enabled transaction processing and control for Internet and electronic commerce applications. PaylinX was acquired by CyberSource (NASDAQ CYBS) in July 2000. Prior to PaylinX, Bob was President and co-founder of Tapestry Computing, a regional systems integrator and reseller that grew to become the 20th largest Oracle reseller in North America. Bob’s experience also includes management positions with Southwestern Bell, Monsanto and Sandia National Laboratories, as well as founding Intelligent Computer Systems. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. In addition, he has lectured on artificial intelligence at Washington University in St. Louis.
